We are not selling a re-side by default
Some walls need a kickout flashing and a few boards. Some need to come off. The inspection exists so that choice is based on the cavity, not a driveway guess.
This is the inspection we would want on our own house before a re-side. We open strategic spots, read the weather-resistive barrier, check window and deck flashing, and probe for soft sheathing. You leave with a written note: monitor it, repair a detail, or re-side. It is also the right first visit when a wall has stained, a deck ledger looks tired, or two contractors have already disagreed.

The weather-resistive barrier is the housewrap or felt behind the siding, plus the tapes and flashings that tie windows and penetrations into it. If that layer is torn or missing, new siding alone will not keep you dry.
Water often starts above the wall. If the roof is the suspect, the roof inspection is the companion visit, and we can do both on the same trip.
Most projects touch more than one trade. These are the pages homeowners open next, and the scopes we most often bundle into a single estimate.
