Exterior House Painting

A full exterior repaint is the body of the house: lap siding, panels, board-and-batten, and the broad walls you see from the street. We wash, scrape what is failing, prime bare spots, and apply a 100% acrylic system rated for Pacific Northwest weather. Trim and fascia can ride along in the same project or stay on their own page if that is all you need.

Included in this scope

  • Wash, scrape, sand and spot-prime
  • Caulk at joints that should be closed, and open joints that should stay open so the wall can dry
  • Two coats where the color change or the bare wood requires them
  • Body color documented with the product name, not “a beige”
  • A walkthrough for holidays in the coverage before we call it done

Details that change the result

01

Fiber cement versus cedar

Hardie wants a different prep than checked cedar. We do not use one spec for both and hope.

02

Color changes need more paint

Going from a deep body to a light one is an extra coat. It is in the estimate, not a surprise on day three.

03

Stucco is a different coating

If the wall is stucco, the repair and the coating are scoped on the stucco page first. Paint will not bridge a crack that is still moving.

Questions

Before you call

How many coats?
Bare wood and strong color changes get primer plus two finish coats. A sound, same-color recoat is often one thorough coat after a real prep. The estimate says which.
Do you move furniture and plants?
We ask you to pull what you care about away from the walls. We cover the rest and we do not paint your grill. A crowded side yard slows the job — we will say so at the walkthrough.
Can you match a faded color?
We can scan it and get close. Faded paint is not the original chip. If an HOA cares, we submit the new chip, not a promise of invisibility.
