Entry and Patio Door Replacement

Doors are the openings you feel: the draft at the entry, the patio slider that fogs, the threshold that trips you on the way to the deck. GetHomeFix replaces entry doors and patio doors, and we treat a full door replacement as its own sequenced project when more than one opening is involved. Most door days are short. The ordering is what takes the time.

What the project includes

  • Entry, patio slider and swinging patio doors
  • A flashed opening and a pan under the sill
  • Thresholds that meet the deck or the porch without a pond
  • Hardware, weatherstrip and a latch that lines up
  • Interior and exterior trim closed up the same day

What matters on the Eastside

01

The sill is the leak

Door water shows up at the floor, not the top trim. We pan the sill and lap it to the wrap before the new door goes in.

02

Patio doors belong to the deck

If the deck, the cover or the railing is in the same season’s work, the door height and the swing get drawn with that project, not after the deck boards are down.

03

Security and drafts together

A solid feel and a tight weatherstrip are the same installation. We do not hang a heavy door in a racked opening and call the draft “the weather.”

Doors by city

Each city page covers the permit desk, the HOA habits and the conditions we actually meet at that address.

Every material below is its own page: what it is right for, what it costs you in maintenance, and where we would talk you out of it.

Entry Doors

Insulated entry doors — solid, glass, or a sidelight — hung plumb with a sill that does not funnel rain inside.

Patio Doors

How it works

Four steps from first call to final walkthrough

The same sequence on a repair or a full exterior.

01

Free consultation

Call or send the form. We schedule a visit at the house and confirm we cover the address.

02

Scope and fixed estimate

We measure, talk through materials, and hand you a written itemized price. That price is the price.

03

Permits and build

You typically pull the permit. We tell you what the city will look at, then run the job with one project manager.

04

Walkthrough

We walk the finished work with you, close the punch list, and go over the warranty terms for that project.

Questions

Before you call

How long does a door replacement take?
A single entry or patio door is often one day. Several openings, or a resized opening, take longer. Custom doors have a lead time we put in the schedule before you sign.
Do you install garage doors?
Garage doors are a different trade and a different warranty. We will refer that scope rather than pretend it is the same as an entry door. If the trim and siding around the garage opening are ours, that part stays in our estimate.
Can the door match new windows?
Yes, and it should, when both are being replaced. Same manufacturer where we can, same exterior color, same glass coating on the glass doors.
