Wooden Fence Installation

Cedar is the wood fence that belongs on the Eastside: horizontal privacy runs, board-and-batten, and pickets that still let a front yard breathe. We frame them square, space the boards so they can move, and stain them before the gray sets in — or leave a clear plan if you want them to weather on purpose.

  • Cedar privacy, horizontal slat, board-and-batten or picket

  • A stain or a weathering plan, stated in the estimate
  • Stepped or racked layouts on a slope, chosen on purpose

Details that change the result

01

Horizontal needs a straight line

A horizontal cedar fence shows every wave. We set posts, then a taught top line, and we do not hide a crooked run behind a thick stain.

02

Boards need a gap

Tight-butted cedar cups and traps water. The reveal is a design choice and a drying detail.

03

Neighbors and the finished face

We confirm the finished face before the first panel goes up. Changing it later means rebuilding the run.

Questions

Before you call

Cedar or pressure-treated?
Cedar for anything you will look at. Pressure-treated for posts and structural rails where it stays out of the finished view, unless the whole fence is a utility run.
Will you stain it?
Yes, as its own line in the estimate. A fence stained in the shop or on site the week it goes up holds color. A fence left raw for a year is a refinishing job.
How tall can it be?
Often 6 feet on a side or rear yard and lower in the front, but HOAs and cities both write rules. We check the address before we promise a height.
