The crack is a clue
Most of the failures we see started with a moisture barrier that was never right. We open the wall where the evidence says to, the same way we do on a siding moisture inspection.
Stucco is less common here than fiber cement for a reason: the rain finds a bad moisture barrier and the wall tells on you later as a crack or a stain. GetHomeFix patches and re-stuccos Eastside houses only after the weather barrier and the wet sheathing are addressed. A blend that disappears is the standard. Paint over a moving crack is not a repair.

A patch is only invisible if the texture and the color sit with the wall around it. We sample first.
Small cracks can be a day. Larger sections run several days and need a dry cure. We will not mud a wall into a forecast.
The same sequence on a repair or a full exterior.
