Chain Link Fence Installation

Chain link is the honest fence for a side yard, a dog run, or a line you do not want to pay cedar prices to hide. Done poorly it sags and the gates drag. We set terminal posts, stretch the fabric, and use a coated mesh when the fence faces the street or a neighbor you like.

Included in this scope

  • Galvanized or black/green vinyl-coated mesh
  • Terminal posts, rails and tension bars sized for the height
  • Fabric stretched, not hung loose between posts
  • Gates framed so they do not drag on the high side of the yard
  • Privacy slats as an option where a solid wall is not allowed

Details that change the result

01

Black coat, same structure

Vinyl-coated black chain link disappears against trees better than bright galvanized. The posts and the stretch still have to be right.

02

Slats are not a wood fence

Privacy slats help, and they also catch wind. We tell you when a cedar privacy fence is the actual request.

03

A clean scope

Chain link is often the side and rear while the front is wood or metal. We will price the whole perimeter as one layout.

Questions

Before you call

Is chain link allowed in my HOA?
Sometimes only in side and rear yards, sometimes not at all. We read the rule before we order mesh. If it is banned, we price wood or vinyl instead.
How long does it last?
A galvanized fence with posts set in concrete is a long service life in this climate, as long as the fabric stays tensioned and the bottom does not sit in soil.
Can you add privacy later?
Slats can go in after. A full privacy screen changes the wind load, so we would rather plan it with the posts than retrofit a sail onto a light line.
